Saturday September
21, 2013: Paula just completed the 500th scuba dive of her diving career. This event coincided with her birthday. Time for a scuba dive party, Paula. |
The beautiful plant arrangement came from Scuba Leslie, Paula's diving friend from the Twin Cities. Leslie put this together from her own garden, then added paper fish that said 500!! & Dives. Very creative. |
Mark, skipper of the
Minnow,
took party goers on a cruise around Gilbert Lake. While on the way, Mark's hat blew off, but Loren Beilke retrieved it with a fishing net. |
There was plenty of food that
evening.
The menu included pulled pork along with Chef Paula's home made beans and home made coleslaw. |
Paula told the story about being underwater and looking up to see a huge Northern fish. How big was it Paula? The carnations came from Mark. |
Soon, the crew was outside at the fire
ring swapping stories while Gilbert Lodge glowed in the evening
hours. Funny how fire attracts people. Word on the street is that Paula's 39th birthday has now happened 20 times! |
More stories of diving were related while the fire
burned on. There seemed to be no shortage of underwater tales to tell. |
Quote of the day: Divers are fun people. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
