Tuesday, July 30, 2013: Mark and Paula headed to the Crow Wing County Fair. It is one of the best county fairs in the state. Even law enforcement officers ride horses there. |
Blacksmith Jim Newgord was there from Riverside
Forge. People gathered around to see how things were made of hot iron like this dinner bell. Speaking of dinner..... |
What would a county fair be without hot buttered corn? |
Maybe a turkey drumstick is more
to your liking. Mark thought so. |
Then it was off to the
North Central Beekeepers booth for a honey Sunday. A red spot is on the queen bee in this hive. Watch it, you could get stung! |
Greg Olson from South Long Lake was there with his
gas engines. They date back to between 1902 and 1932. |
Stormin' Norman the deer was there watching a
father and daughter with bubbles in hand. Don't give me that "deer in the headlights" look! |
Every county fair has horses and young ladies to
take care of them. Bossy the cow was there too. |
Paula couldn't resist talking to a goat and these
kids. Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full. |
Paula likes to see the plants and especially the
lilies. She would be a Master Gardner if she could find the time. |
There was plenty of music for
everyone along with refreshments. What would a county fair be without them? |
Quote of the day: Always fun to go to this county fair. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
