Saturday, July 27, 2013:
The annual
Whitefish Chain Antique and Classic Wood Boat Rendezvous was held at
Moonlight Bay at the north end of Crosslake, Minnesota. This is just a small portion of the classic wooden boats on display that day. |
Lots of fun names on the boats
too. |
This boat had a full bar. Who could ask for more? |
There was even a classic duck
boat complete with camouflaged outboard motor. It had a duck call too. |
Then there was the
Tolka.
It is from 1928 and was built at the Alexander Graham Bell Labs in Nova Scotia, Canada. |
No expense was spared in building and later
rebuilding of this one-of-a-kind classic. Restored to its former glory, it is beautiful. |
Luxury was the name of the game. Restoration efforts were helped greatly by movies that were taken of it back in the 1930's. |
Plenty to see at the snow including these
beautifully hand-crafted paddles. Even the Whitefish Chain Bear was there. |
Then there were the high-speed runs through
Moonlight Bay.
A real crowd pleaser. |
Quote of the day: Always fun to see the Crosslake Boat Show. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
