26, 2013: Mark headed out on a sailing ship at the Tall Ships event in Duluth, Minnesota. This trip was on the thirteen year old schooner Denis Sullivan. She is an ocean going vessel, but her home port is Milwaukee, Wisconsin. |

Even with a ships crew of ten, passengers were urged to help with duties. Bon voyage and heave ho! |
Lots of passengers this trip to enjoy the water. |
There were sails to trim as the mighty ship turned into the wind. |
A ship like this
does not run itself. Constant attention is required to keep her on keel. Sometimes the crew disagrees on how it should be done! |
The Privateer Lynx sailed sailed past. |
Then the Schooner Hindu went by. |

Mark likes Duluth
and the Aerial Bridge.
He was born in Duluth back in 1947. |
After two hour of
sailing, it was time to return to port. The experience was all too short....as you would expect. |
Quote of the day: Glad to be back on dry land. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
