Friday, July 26, 2013:
Mark and Paula visited a British encampment, from the late 1700's and early 1800's. This gathering was going on in conjunction with the Tall Ships event in Duluth, Minnesota. Re-enactors portrayed those who crossed the Atlantic via the HM Schooner Nancy. |

Yes, visitors learned how it was back then. Very interesting and informative. |
The cook was busy putting
together a meal fit for a king. Many courses....it looked and smelled wonderful. Good cooks are highly valued for their skill. |
The water boys were walking around to help anyone
who was thirsty. At least that is how they did it way back when. |
There were some blacksmiths too. Hot stuff! |
Look at that....a
huge pan of onions cooking over a camp fire. There was coffee
and stew as well. |
Yes, they ate well back then. |
There was flute music too.
Hauntingly beautiful. |

Paula was anxious to show off her new "Port of
Duluth" shirt.
But first, she had to grab an ice cream cone. First things first, Paula. |
Quote of the day: A fascinating look at history. I learned a lot. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
