Thursday, July 4, 2013: 

It is a tradition...many thousands gather each July 4th to see fireworks in Brainerd near the high school.

 
The 4th of July celebration is planned by Mark and Nancy Cross.

Nancy is a tireless worker in making it all happen through Brainerd Community Action.

 
Yes, there were sparklers before the fireworks.

 
Flags were everywhere.

 
These three really enjoyed their sparklers.

 
Then the fireworks started.

 
Very well done.

 
Brainerd reportedly has the largest and best in the area.

 
The finally was worth seeing after almost 30 minutes of continuous fireworks.

 
Many stopped to remember the occasion on their smart phones.

 
The Brainerd Fire Department was flying its huge flag for everyone to see.
