Friday, December 14, 2012: The weather was relatively mild while Mark and Paula were in downtown Minneapolis at 7th and Nicollet. They came across a bronze statue of Mary Tyler Moore, a character they liked from the Mary Tyler Moore Show. This highly rated sitcom was on CBS television from 1970 to 1977. |
Then it was
off to see a huge Christmas tree in the Crystal Court of the
IDS center. An impressive site. |
Nearby Gaviidae Common was decorated for Christmas. |
The Gaviidae name is reportedly a derivative of the Minnesota state bird name, Gavia immer, known as the loon to most. |
Dinner that
night was at
Murray's Restaurant beneath the prominent Minneapolis skyline.
This dining place has been a part of the Minneapolis downtown since 1946. |
Quote of the day: Wonderful dining at Murrays. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
