Thursday, December 13, 2012: Mark and Paula traveled to Duluth, Minnesota. It is a harbor city at the western tip of Lake Superior. The above photo shows Duluth just after sunset that day. Below, the city is lit up after dark for visitors from around the world. |
|
Being that this is an international
shipping port, there are many fine restaurants along with waterline
serving fish to hungry travelers. It doesn't get any better than this! |
One of the main attractions is the Aerial Bridge that lights up at
night. It is described by some as the Golden Gate to the Midwest.
The bridge raises to let ocean going ships through. To the right of the bridge is the South Pier Inn. A place that Mark and Paula usually stay at when visiting Duluth. |
The South Pier is a friendly place where they even
serve gingerbread man cookies in the winter. Paula couldn't resist! |
Quote of the day: Duluth is a fun place to visit. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
