Thursday, October 4, 2012:  On a fairly cool 40 degree day, Jason Kitzman of Norlake Dock Service in Baxter, MN, showed up with his helpers.

It was time to remove the Gilbert Lodge Pier, sometimes referred to as a dock.

With six of them to do the job, but it didn't take long.

They even put the canoe and kayak away for the winter.

Winter?...did you say winter?
