Saturday, September 22, 2012: It was the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's. The event color is purple and it was held at the Northland Arboretum in Brainerd. This charity fund raiser draws hundreds who raise money for research to find an answer to the disease that robs people of brain function. Alzheimer's is the sixth leading cause of death. |
Some showed photos of loved ones who were lost. There are five million cases of Alzheimer's across the country with 100,000 in Minnesota. |
Paula and many others decorated pinwheels as remembrances. Her mother died of the disease. |
Celebrities included Molly West of Brainerd, who is Miss Minnesota High School this year. |
The weather was excellent with temperature in the 60's. There was a very good turnout raising money for Alzheimer's research. |
Quote of the day: It is good to see people donating to charitable causes. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
