Men were seen cleaning and checking their guns in a Union camp.
Then there was an inspection of the troops.

Very important to keep weapons clean and powder dry, 

 The U. S. Army Signal Corps was kept busy sending telegraph messages to keep President Lincoln and troop commanders in touch.

 
There was another Civil War battle. 

Loud cannons and gunshots filled the air.

 
The Union troops had their act together that day and were on the offensive. 

It wasn't long before they won a battle.

 
Yes, it was a Union victory on the way to winning the Civil War and reuniting the nation.
