         The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons
Wednesday, July 16, 2012:  Paula and Mark attended a Country Sampler Picnic at the Northland Arboretum in Brainerd.

It was a charity event with good food to raise money for the arb. 

One of the activities was a pig race.  A well received event.

Which pig won????  They went by so fast, who could tell?
Interestingly some local non-professional entertainers put on an excellent music and comedy show. 

Friends Paul Bloom and Mark Hegstrom were two of the five members of the band that night.  Mark is the morning guy on WJJY Radio in Brainerd.

Mark is wearing a hat with a fish sticking through the front and back. 

The music consisted of tunes you know with words and phrases from Minnesota.

Great stuff.
There was even a stage coach from 200 years ago taking riders including local celebrities around.

Giddy up!
This was a GREAT opportunity to "dunk your local politician."

It appears that David Allan Pundt's wife was in the cheering section to get him to get wet

Hmmm....we wonder why!

David and Carol visited Gilbert Lodge back in 2006. 

Northland Arboretum Executive Director Dale Braddy was there to oversee much of the activity.

Even when he was dressed as a farmer.

The amusement even included face painting among others.
