The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Tuesday, June 12, 2012:  Summer is here and so is the wildlife.

This chipmunk was drinking at a nearby bird bath.

Here is a small turtle that was found crossing Riverside Drive.

It was helped on its way so no harm was done.

Question: Why did the turtle cross the road?  Answer:  To get to the other side!

Deep Diver Paula went SCUBA diving that evening and saw this turtle at the bottom of a mine pit/lake, named Connecticut Two Bit, near Crosby, Minnesota.

The shell is about 12 inches in length.

Hmmm....Paula, what does turtle stew taste like?

Fishermen were out on the silvery waters of Gull Lake angling for big ones before sunset.

Gull is a good place to catch walleye.

No report yet on how they did.

Quote of the day:  Wildlife abounds this time of year.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
