Sunday, December 11, 2011:  The moon was shining bright in the western sky before sunrise.  Its rays glistened off the ice on Gilbert Lake.
Skaters were seen on the lake in the afternoon.  The ice is thick enough for that and it is clear enough to see the bottom in many places.
