Monday, May 23, 2011:  Mark attended a one-man one-act play by Patrick Dewane at the Brainerd Public Library.  It was “The Accidental Hero,” the story was about Patrick's grandfather, Matt Konop, whose grandfather who had immigrated to the United States from Czechoslovakia in the 1800's.  This true story came full circle when Konop, then an officer in the U. S. Army, returned to the home of his ancestors in Czechoslovakia to liberate the town at the end of World War II.  The audience spellbound while Patrick spun this fascinating tale without notes for 90 minutes.  It was very nicely done.
