Sunday, May 15, 2011: The rhythm of the rails was calling Mark and Paula. They bought tickets for a ride on the famous 1880 Train in the Black Hills of South Dakota. |

The conductor checked his official railroad watch. |

This is a coal-fired steam engine from 130 years ago. It takes a real engineer to run it. |

They pulled out of Keystone headed for Hill City. |
|
There were plenty of sights along the way to see. including this 7200 foot peak. |

Paula "Shutterbug" Persons brought her camera to capture some of the moments. |

The rail line ran through hills and valleys in this once mining area. |

The scenery is good and that is why many live here. |

Tip of the day: The Ruby House Restaurant in Keystone is a good place to dine. The house specialty is Buffalo Stew in a bread bowl. |
