Friday, March 19, 2010:  Ice on Gilbert lake is looking darker although it is almost month from the normal time when it goes out.  Just less than an inch of rain over the period of a week, followed by cooler temperatures, melted the snow on the ice and refroze it.  Then a sprinkling of snow left small patches back on the surface.  

Mark and Paula headed to the Nisswa American Legion Club for a wonderful buffet dinner.

Chef Tom Johnson prepared a "Steamship Round" Western Hanging Beef and received rave reviews.  He slow cooked 74 pounds of beef for dinner that night.  Great stuff!
