February 7, 2010:  It started out to be a fairly clear day.  Fishermen were out on Gilbert Lake, as seen through the trees at the lodge. 

Then the snow came and we had near-whiteout conditions at times. 

What a great time to have a fire in the Grand Fireplace at Gilbert Lodge.

That was followed by watching the Super Bowl game on television.  The underdog New Orleans Saints pulled out a victory in the fourth quarter to defeat the Indianapolis Colts 31 to 17.  It was the first franchise win for New Orleans.  Congratulations!

Food served in the Great Room at Gilbert Lodge included Planters peanuts, Miller Genuine Draft beer, Giovanni's pepperoni pizza, and Act II popcorn.  It doesn't get any better than that. 

A survey taken at Gilbert lodge revealed that the best television commercial, during the game, was by Budweiser, closely followed by the Coca Cola commercials.
