September 6, 2009: Mark and Paula Persons attended the Minnesota State Fair in Minneapolis/St. Paul. This "Great Minnesota Get Together" runs twelve days up to and including Labor Day each year. This year, a reported 1.79 million people attended. |

They climbed to the top of a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources fire lookout tower. Those doing so become a member in good standing of the Ancient and Honorable Order of Squirrels. | |
The Minnesota State Gopher is the mascot of the fair. |
Again from high up above, Mark and Paula rode the Sky Glider across the fair. |
Mark and Paula stopped at the WCCO Television booth an had their photo taken with the crew. On the left is Liz Collin. On the far right is Don Shelby. Don is retiring in December from his air shift at WCCO 830 AM Radio and from WCCO Television a year from December. |
One of the many musical groups performing was Riders in the Sky. They were TERRIFIC playing cowboy songs to the delight of a huge crowd in the Leinie Lodge Theatre sponsored by Leinenkugel Beer. |

Mark and Paula took the elevator to the top of the Space Tower, about 300 feet up at night to see the lights. |
