April 2, 2009:  There may be some snow on the ground in Brainerd, MN, but that did not stop the Third Annual Military Chili Cook-Off.  Twelve military and civic organizations prepared chili in a contest to see who is the best.  The event was for charity and the chili was judged by the public who attended.  Sponsored by Brainerd Community Action and WWWI Radio, the event raised money to send everyday usable gift items to US troops in Iraq and other war-torn places abroad.        

The US Marines went all out with 'hot' chili.

 

The US Navy did a great job too.

Brainerd area civic organizations participated for this charity as well. 

The US Army did a great job....better than the Army chow that many of us remember from the past. 
Even the Brainerd VFW show up to show off their chili at this charity fund raising event.  It was a great success with hundreds showing up to eat, talk, and donate to the cause.
