The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

April 12, 2009:  Easter Sunday is here and Paula is cooking in the Galley at Gilbert Lodge.  To the left is a nice wood fire in the Grand Fireplace.

Dining at the lodge today were (l-r) Paula's dad Chet Timman, Paula, June Persons (Mark's mom) and Mark.

The menu included baked ham with Paula's special glaze, cheese potatoes, home baked beans, green peas, a dinner roll, and jello salad.  Dessert was lemon meringue pie.

It all worked out so well that rabbits were dancing around a crystal basket with Easter eggs.

Spring is in the air.  Temperatures are in the 30's at night and 50's during the day.  Lake ice is turning a little dark, but it will be a few weeks before we see open water.

Even Jim Offerdahl and his wife Ann stopped by to visit.  Jim's is a Radio Broadcast Engineer from KKCQ/KKEQ Radio in Fosston, MN.
April 13, 2009:  Well, it is left-over ham in a ham and cheese omelet the day after Easter.  It looks great on a pan in the Grand Galley.
Now it looks even better on a plate in the Grand Dining Room at Gilbert Lodge along with cheese-potatoes, jello salad, and rye bread.

April 14, 2009:  The first viola of the season was found near the entrance to Gilbert Lodge.  Spring is definitely on the way.

Joke of the Day:  An investigation was launched to find the source of so many rabbits found seemingly everywhere in France.  They found someone was raising rabbits in a "hutch back of Notre Dame."
