         The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

December 16, 2009:  Friend Kurt Hanson was a guest at Gilbert Lodge for dinner.  It was Fall Corn Chowder, which is one of Chef Paula's specialties.

December 19, 2009:  Josie the cat is watching over the lodge from every vantage point.

 

The stockings were hung on the Grand Stairway with care in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

 

December 19, 2009:  Paul Hirst and his wife Teresa joined Paula and Mark at Prairie Bay Restaurant in Baxter, MN, for an evening meal.  The restaurant offered an Alaskan Dinner special.  The menu:

Hearty Reindeer and Roasted Root Vegetable Stew
King Crab Stuffed Smoked King Salmon with Hazelnut Butter
Banana Foster Baked Alaska dessert
 

The dessert was a perfect ending to a wonderful dinner.
