October 10, 2009:  We woke up to just la little less than an inch of snow.  Paula is showing us that October 10th is way too early for snow.

The rain gauge made it look like four inches of snow, but that just wasn't true.

Even after most of a day of melting, it still showed on the roof.  Overnight temperatures are well below freezing and daytime temperatures are above freezing at this point with no warming in sight. 

A huge fire in the Grand Fireplace at Gilbert Lodge warmed us up on that cold day. 

October 11, 2009:  Gilbert Lodge Chief Mechanic, Mark Persons, is seen tweaking the adjustments on a new electric overhead door opener in the outbuilding.  Thanks to Brainerd Overhead Door for their assistance in this project.
