Fourth of July, 2008:
Paula Persons and Amy Scott are congratulating Brenda and Craig Lingwall
on their wedding just a week before. The occasion was an annual family gathering at the Jack and Candy Scott residence on Round Lake near Garrison, MN. |
Noah Calvo is an accomplished fiddle player. At age 9, he put on quite a performance for the relatives. |
Some of the Scott, Lingwall, and extended families at the annual gathering on Round Lake near Garrison, MN. On the right is Uncle Jack Scott with a large chunk of watermelon after a great potluck lunch. Jack is a true Minnesotan and great guy. He spent his working career in the thermostat division of Honeywell in Minneapolis, MN. |
The annual Round Lake Boat Parade started at 1 PM and was a great event for everyone involved. |
One of the may entries decked-out with flags |
Even a pirate ship showed up flying the Jolly Roger. Aye mate! |
A great salute from a member of the U.S. Military aboard one of the parade entries |
Mark and Paula had a great time at the event. |
Paula makes sure that every fourth of July has an Egg Toss Contest in the back yard. |
What a catch. This young guy will probably be playing for the Minnesota Twins baseball team in a few years. |
In the evening, we
attended the annual Brainerd fireworks display with the
Paul and
Teresa Hirst
family....along with thousands of others. What a sight. |
The fireworks were put on by Brainerd Community Action in celebration of our nation's independence from foreign power. |
