July 18, 2008: Mark and Paula are enjoying a "spicy chicken" dinner using a recipe from Diane Hoglin at the Brainerd Dispatch newspaper. They finished it off with a big helping of carrot cake on the Promenade Deck at Gilbert Lodge. |
From there, they set sail aboard "The Minnow" on Gilbert Lake. That includes Josie--the sailor cat. Paula is keeping a watchful eye on her. |
We came across some beautiful Bread and Butter flowers along the shoreline. |
Fishermen were out that night too and doing well. |
A mother Duck and her little ones. |
July 19, 2008: (l-r) SCUBA divers Leslie Kopietz and Paula Persons after Paula's 200th dive in the mine pits near Crosby, MN. Paula has been a diver for about nine years and dives often with regulars from the Minnesota School of Diving. |
Dive Master Bill LaCroix is wearing the yellow poncho because of rain that day, but that didn't stop him and the other divers from enjoying a good shore lunch. As they said, "It doesn't get any better than this." Paula even brought fresh watermelon to share for dessert. |
