The autumn colors are really starting to show near the entrance to Gilbert Lodge.

An after-dinner look at the trees from The Minnow.  The water was calm making the surface into a mirror to repeat the colors.     

October 7, 2006:  The Minnow left for dry-dock and will return in the spring.  It was a great year on the water.

October 9-10, 2006:  There was frost on the pumpkin as overnight temperatures dropped to 27 degrees Fahrenheit. 

October 11, 2006:  Light snow fell in the morning.  This is Minnesota. 

November 3, 2006:  The overnight temperature dropped to 14 degrees Fahrenheit and the smaller part of Gilbert Lake, near Gilbert Lodge, froze over.

December 4, 2006:  Two inches of new snow fell overnight.  This snow will stay for the winter.
