A Turtle Power Meter was installed at Gilbert Lodge.  This automatic power meter reading system makes it possible for Brainerd Public Utilities to read the power meter daily.  Up until now, a meter person read the meter on a monthly basis.

(l-r) Carl Kezar, Turtle Meter Specialist, and Jim Herman, Brainerd Electrical Inspector, handled the installation and system check-out.  Carl is a retired U.S. Marine, and Jim worked as an electrician for many years.  They are sporting green BPU (Brainerd Public Utility) hats.

Paula made chicken on the Bar-B-Q in the Gilbert Lodge Grand Porch, which is screened in.  There are two fans and a light to aid in cooking.

Canada Geese are often seen on Gilbert lake.  We counted 22 in the group that night.

Sunset on Gilbert Lake.  Every great summer day must come to an end.  Loons call after the sun goes down to keep the experience alive.
