 The Minnow, home port Gilbert Lodge on Gilbert Lake, Brainerd, Minnesota. She is a 20-foot pontoon boat with a 40-horse Mercury outboard motor. A name the boat contest had contestants looking for names that would give confidence to everyone aboard. Names like Bismarck, Poseidon and Titanic were suggested. There is a small island on the Gilbert Lake. That led to naming her, The Minnow, as in Gilligan's Island.  Captain Mark is the skipper and deck hand Paula plays the part of Gilligan! Mark was thinking he wanted to be Thursgon Howell III. That would mean Paula would be Thurston's wife Lovey!  Together they ply the waters of Gilbert Lake on summer days hoping a storm won't come up. |
