Sunday, February 2, 2025: Ground Hog Day. Nipper, the Gilbert Lodge Mascot, was out with pups in the morning snow.
Nipper was explaining that there would be six more weeks of winter because they could see their shadows.
However, the sun was shortly thereafter hidden by clouds. So, the forecase is in doubt.
Time will tell if there will be six more weeks of winter in the Brainerd area and at Gilbert Lodge.
For perspective, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow at Gobbler's Knob this year indicating more winter.
