Friday, August 2, 2024: Mark and Paula headed to Fargo, ND, but stopped in Moorhead, MN, to see the world's largest Dilly Bar. Then it was off to the Hjemkomst Viking Ship. This is a replica of an 8th century Viking ship. It was built in Moorhead and sailed from New York to Norway in 1982, powered by sail. On the grounds is the Hopperstad Stave Church replica, lovingly construted between 1996 and 2001 by locals. The tour guide was most helpful. The church is small because worshipers were required to stand for the entire service! Then Mark and Paula traveled to downtown Fargo. Paula found an alarm clock radio, but it was too big and loud for her room. Kids played in downtown where there are street fountains. Great in 80 degree weather. |
Quote of the day: Fargo is a fun place Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
