Mark and Paula decided to see what
Mammoth Cave
looked like.

The tour group stepped into the
underground where the temperature is about 54 degrees year round.

The park ranger told of early
explorers from 100 years ago.
|

Then they headed down even more.
|
 |
Low ceiling in spots underground.
|
 |
Then they went down again!
|
 |
Of course, there was a bottomless pit
too.
|
 |
Then it was revealed they were 350
feet below ground level and only 50 feet up from the water table!

What goes down must go up and that is
what they did.

Awesome scenery along the way.

Finally there was light at the end of the
tunnel.
Mark and Paula walked just two miles of the 426 miles of
caves in the area. |
