Wednesday, June 10,
2020: Power
went out at Gilbert Lodge at 3:53 pm.
Homes, businesses and street lights, at that end of town, were out too. |
Police were out directing traffic. |
The Brainerd Public Utilities website
showed probably one-third of their service area was out. |
Trucks arrived to apparently find a
shorted underground cable, not far from Lake Country Dental. It took about 0.8 hours to restore power that day. |
The next day at 12:05 pm, there was a city-wide power outage
that lasted about 0.6 hours. It apparently occurred because of a problem at the major power sub-station SE of town. The fully-automatic backup power generator plant at Gilbert Lodge functioned perfectly both days. It provided power for the duration after only a 10 seconds. |
Quote of the day: It is amazing how people depend on electrical power. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
