2020: Mark and Paula
have been busy with spring yard work. They decided to tackle removing a tree stump. Mark says it was Paula's idea. Simple, right? Paula removed dirt while Mark used an axe to cut tree roots. |
In exasperation, Mark used a chainsaw to cut roots, dulling the chain in
the process. He tied a winch to the stump and it still refused to come out. |
Paula helped by pushing. |
More digging to get to even more roots, some that went almost straight
down. This was an ironwood tree. No wonder it was so stubborn. |
Finally, with a mighty pull, the stump came loose. That
was after almost two hours of work! Mark was wearing a shirt that he wore as an Army Sergeant in Vietnam, 51 years ago. It still fits...sort of. |
Quote of the day: We learned a lot from that one! Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
