Tuesday, September 4, 2018:   There it was, a giant backhoe digging up south 6th Street in Brainerd. 
One of Brainerd's water towers is seen in the background. 
 
Yes, Minnesota has two seasons.  They are winter snow and the summer construction season!
 
Meanwhile, Woodcutter Mark was busy chain sawing trees at Gilbert Lodge. 
He was wearing a green fatigue uniform top from his days in the U.S. Army back in the late 1960s.
It still fits....sort of!  Paula says he looks a bit like a stuffed sausage in it now that he is 30 pounds heavier.
 
Then it was out on Gilbert Lake with Paula "Gilligan" Persons as lookout.
 
Plenty of water activities on the lake.
 
This one is riding a boat wake without a tow line.
