Tuesday, June 12, 2018:  Paul and Teresa Hirst along, with Mark and Paula, were back on the road touring through Scotland.

They stopped at Aira Force Park for a hike.

There is a water fall with a bridge at the top that is difficult to see in the left photo.
It is a different story when seen from above.

Paula discovered coins stuck into a tree trunk.  A very clever idea!

Mark was marveling at the size of trees along the way.  Paul got a shot of Teresa up to a tree that is about eight feet in diameter.

The lesson here is, "If you come to a fork in the road, go that way!"
Paula was singing, "You take the low road, I'll take the high road and I'll get to Tipperary before yea."

The hills are colorful with winding roads.

It seems every road has hand-built stone walls.
Petrol (gasoline) in England and Scotland ran about $7.60 per gallon, after converting liters and British Pounds to U.S. money.

They finally wound up in Windermere, on the northwest side of England.

There is something odd about this.....a pub on Church Street.

There are interesting people in places like this.

The weather is usually great for outdoor socializing and eating.

Sunset was approaching and people were out on Bowness Bay of Lake Windemere.

One last shot.

Quote of the day:    Great weather for a wonderful vacation.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
