Thursday, November 9, 2017:
It was below freezing outside with a stiff wind. Workers in hooded jackets came by to remove the lake dock at Gilbert Lodge. The ice was over one inch thick. Paula provided them with ice chisels to break the ice. |
They were finally able to start removing dock pieces. |
The sections were brought ashore with the tops separate. |
You can do it.....pull....pull! |
They finally wrestled the last section to shore. while standing on lake ice off
the end of the stairway. |
Gilbert Lake had a long hole in its ice when the workers left. Open water won't last long with a predicted five below zero overnight. The lake water pump house is seen on the right, a project that Mark did. |
Quote of the day: My suggestion is to start earlier next year. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
