Saturday, October 21, 2017:
Oktoberfest at Ruttger's Bay Lake
Lodge. People of all ethnic backgrounds showed up in German costume to celebrate the harvest season. |
Singers were there with German songs to excite the crowd with great
enthusiasm. |
Everyone was in a festive mood. |
The Narren from New
Ulm, Minnesota, were there too. |
Jack Ruttger, the big guy at Ruttger's, was caught kissing a Narren! Oh the shame of it. What if
his wife Ann finds out? Jack asked the Gilbert Lodge Paparazzi, how much it would take to keep this quiet. He was told, no dice, you can't pay enough to cover this up. So, here it is for the world to see. |
Plenty of dancing to the music that day. |
A band with fun guys was playing German Polka music. |
This young lady sang very well, to the delight of the crowd. |
Lots of fun costumed people that day. |
Then there was the
Hammerschlagen
where people try to pound a nail into a log with the narrow end of a
hammer. Not an easy task, but a fun event to try. |
Everyone wanted to see this a man on stilts. |
Yes, a fun time was had by all that day. |
Quote of the day: You bet your Schnitzel I am going back next year. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
