Tuesday, July 4, 2017:  The annual Fourth of July parade in Brainerd was blessed by good weather.  Thousands watched.
It started with an Honor Guard from the Brainerd American Legion, the Brainerd Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Crow Wing County Disabled American Veterans.

Walt Straka was there.  Walt is the only local survivor of the infamous Bataan Death March in WWII.

The Crow Wing County Mounted Sheriff's Patrol impressed the crowd.

American Legion Riders paraded by.  They raise money to help veterans.

The Brainerd Warrior Pep Band was there too.

The band played well.  You can hear them at Brainerd High School basketball games.

This float entry spoke for itself.

The Osman Shrine Cycle Corps showed their precision riding.  Careful, guys!

The AAD Oriental Shrine Band entertained parade goers.

Some people dressed for the occasion, including this lady veteran and a young lady who could be a veterans someday.

Quote of the day:    A well done parade in Brainerd.  Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
