Thursday, May 25,
2017: (l-r) Mark Persons and Dick
Lyscio were interviewed on WWWI and KLKS Radio in Brainerd by Rick
Skogs. The subject was the upcoming Memorial Day Ceremonies in Brainerd. Mark and Dick are on the Memorial Day Committee. They told the audience that Memorial day was set aside by Congress to honor and remember our war dead. |
(l-r) Then Tess Taylor and Ken Thomas
interviewed Mark and Dick on
WJJY Radio
in Brainerd. Plenty of coverage for this important event. When asked what would happen if it rained on Memorial Day, Mark said, "The Honor Guard veterans would march rain or shine, but the ceremonies would be held indoors." |
Meanwhile, Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd was being cleaned up in preparation for Memorial Day. |
Many people were there cleaning graves. It is an annual ritual. |
These ladies were doing that too and
planting a flag in remberance of a loved one. |
Quote of the day: More to come about Memorial Day. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
