Saturday,
November 21, 2015: Mark and
Paula visited a Minneapolis Farmer's Market at Mill City.
The place was jammed with people looking for fresh farm produce.

|
Wonderful selection of
baked goods too.
People go there from many miles around to buy great stuff.

The Farmer's Market is held at the
Mill City Museum,
which is a part of the Minnesota Historical Society. Many very
interesting exhibits.
Minneapolis was the largest grain milling city in the world at one time.
Grain came in from the Dakotas, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota to be
milled into flower to be shipped world-wide.

|
Many interesting exhibits like this farm steam engine.
They attract interest from young and old alike.

It was common in the 1920s for businesses to build and
run radio stations. The Washburn Crosby Company started WCCO Radio
back then.
WCCO television went on to be the most watched station in the Twin
Cities.

This
poster from Washburn Crosby encouraged young me to sign up for U.S. Navy
duty during World War I. The power of advertising!

The eighth floor of Mill City is a
lookout over the river flowing between Minneapolis and St. Paul. A
great place to take selfies too.
