The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Wednesday, July 1, 2015:  Some 30 members of the Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd headed out on a launch from the Blue Goose in Garrison, Minnesota, to do some fishing.  The pilot was checking the depth carefully to find just the right spot.
It wasn't long before young and old alike put lines in the water.
Meanwhile cook Bob Weston was dividing his time between setting out food and running the BAR-B-Q.
A busy job and sometimes there were flames.  Watch it Bob, your beard might catch fire!

It wasn't too long before fish started being caught.....with happy faces to prove it.

Mark was wearing his lucky fishing shirt that day, but only did as well as Jim Van Duyn.

Some good size fish were caught, but were thrown back because of Department of Natural Resources rules.
People are allowed to keep fish in the 18 to 22 inch and above 28 inch sizes.
These fish should be large enough to go home with next year.

The moon was orange that night due to smoke from forest fires in Canada.
At 10 PM, it was time to call it a day and head back.

Quote of the day:    The fish will be waiting for the next trip.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
