There is a reenactment of U.S.
Civil War life in Pipestone, Minnesota once every two years. Mark and Paula were there this year to capture the mood, starting with a concert given by the 97th Regimental String Band. They sang Battle Hymn of the Republic, Dixie, Shenandoah, Battle Cry of Freedom, When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again, and much more. |
Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln gave a wonderful performance to an almost
packed Pipestone Performing Arts Center the next evening. Some referred to it as Ford's Theatre." Fortunately, the president was not shot dead that night. The Lincolns were played by Max and Donna Daniels of Wheaton, Illinois. Learn more about them at: http://www.abeandthebabe.com More photos and stories of the Lincolns in the next exciting adventure on this blog. |
Quote of the day: It is fun to learn history. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
