Wednesday July
30, 2014:
Mark and Paula attended the Crow
Wing County Fair. Who wouldn't? |
|
Mark could not pass up turkey legs
done on a BBQ. Paula is a hamburger person. She doesn't
know what she is missing. |
|
Then it was off to the
North Central Beekeepers Association booth for dessert. What do you get for $3.00? Well, you get ice cream with honey and sunflower seeds. A great dessert, fit for a king....or queen. |
|
Of course, some chose foot-long
corn dogs and others had ice cream in a cone for dessert. Each
to his own. |
|
There was plenty of music and
dancing that night too. Always a favorite at the fair. |
|
Greg Olson from South Long Lake was there with his gas engines.
He knows his way around these antiques dating back to the early
1900s. |
|
Blacksmith Jim Newgord was there from Riverside
Forge. A determined
man, he is one of the last remaining smithies. |
|
Bill Satre was there
from
B93.3 Radio interviewing people including this man from the U.S.
Army National Guard. He did it by recording the audio on his Smartphone, then send it to the radio Station as an email attachment. What will they think of next? Bill also interviewed royalty who were attending the fair. Lucky guy! |
|
There was a wonderful
caricature artist in a booth. A busy guy. He does great
work. |
|
This young guy was
fascinated by the water fountain from a frog. He couldn't get
enough of it. |
|
A girl and her horse....perfect companions. Lucky horse! | |
Jennifer Bergman was
there from the
Brainerd
Rotary Club selling raffle tickets. She, like Paula, is very convincing when making the sale. It is all for a good charity cause. |
|
Who could resist an
old time music machine? It is magic to the eyes and ears! |
|
The midway at night
was filled with kids wanting rides. Lots of screams and fun.
|
Quote of the day: This may be the best county fair in the state. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
