Thursday, July 10, 2014:
The Mark and Paula headed to the
Minnesota School of Diving. Paula was there to SCUBA dive and Mark went along to take photos. |
Paula spent time kibitzing with
Jessica at the dive shop.
Where were they going? Hmmm...Sleepy Hollow at the Mangan Mine Pit sounds about right. |
Easier said than done.
Deep water holes along the way on minimum (if any) maintenance roads. |
Then it was time to get suited
up. This procedure takes at least a half hour. |
Off to the water they went. Paula waved goodbye. |
They checked their gear in the
water while birds hovered overhead like vultures. Is that a sign of something? |
Then there were just bubbles near
a dive flag as they descended below the surface. About ten divers went down that day. |
Meanwhile, food was being
prepared for when they returned. That included the bratwurst with cheese that Paula likes. |
Paula and her dive buddy were
down about 90 minutes. Divers always look like they are having a bad-hair day when they surface. |
Then it was time to tell stories about what they
saw or what they would like others to THINK they saw. |
Nice sunset that day and the moon was almost full. | |
Back at the dive shop, Paula told
about the big Northern she saw. Mark says fish look MAGNIFIED underwater. |
Quote of the day: Yes, diving is an interesting sport. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
