Wednesday July
9, 2014:
Thousands descended on Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, for an annual event. Even local royalty showed up. |
That's right....it was Bean Hole Days. Everyone waited in line to taste beans that had been cooked in the ground for 24 hours. |
Bean pots were raised just before lunchtime. Each pot had a name. This one was Ole....a very Minnesotan name! |
Then there was the stirring of the beans with a
canoe paddle. Only in Pequot Lakes would you see something like that!
|
King and Queen Bean sampled the first and declared them
"perfect." At leas the Queen Bean did. The King Bean wasn't so sure until he had more spoons of the stuff. |
String beans Mark and Paula liked the beans as did everyone
else. Another great success for Pequot Lakes. |
Quote of the day: Anything for a free lunch. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
