Thursday July 3, 2014:
Mark and Paula headed out to the annual Show and
Shine antique automobile show in Brainerd. |
Lots of interesting and well restored cars on
display. |
Paula liked this Ford Pinto.
She had a Pinto when she met Mark in the mid 1970s, but it only had
a four-cylinder engine, not quite like this one. Being a "lead foot," Paula would have liked this one better back then! |
Gary Thiesse showed off his
1926 International Harvester Speed Wagon.
Gary explained that he and his brother Dwight picked rocks from the family farm fields for two weeks in trade for this truck back in 1966. Gary was 15 at the time and the seller was his grandfather. Good trade! |
Some 88 years after it was manufactured,
this truck has been completely restored with countless hours and
money. Just over 69,000 actual miles too. Note the clutch and brake pedals are labeled. The reason is that Ford Model T cars had a different pedal arrangement on the floor, which sometimes led to confusion. |
Then Paula ran into
Bumpy
The Fishing Hobo. Lots of fun. Paula always wanted to be a clown. Some say she is a clown already! |
Quote of the day: Always fun to see old restored cars. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
