April 3, 2014:
Mark and Paula headed to the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport for a flight. Mark did not know that Paula had run out of space in her carry-on luggage when packing the day before. So, she put some of her clothes in his suitcase. An airport security inspector looked into Mark's bag and discovered some "ladies underwear" inside. That is when the inspector looked at the underwear, then looked at Mark, then looked at the underwear, and then back at Mark. Well, needless to say, life gets a bit complicated for Mark at times.....thanks to Paula! |
Freezing rain was just beginning to fall at
the airport. They boarded a plane which was not allowed on the runway until it was sprayed by a ground crew. Paula later told people that they were "icing" the airplane. Mark corrected her by saying they were "de-icing" the airplane. Women! |
Once at cruising altitude, the scenery was
spectacular in mountainous terrain with snow. They could even see the curvature of the earth against a deep blue sky. |
Then they landed at Sin City in
the Nevada desert.
It is a place that is alive with gambling and entertainment for
people 24 hours a day. |
At New York, New York in Las Vegas: Miss Liberty stood there as a beacon of freedom to the world. It is strong people who made America great. |
The city was a "sea of lights." The
weather at this time of year is 70s to 80s during the day and in the
50s at night. Not bad for Minnesotans who are accustomed to freezing temperatures at night...and sometimes during the day. Why were Mark and Paula there? Stay tuned for the next exciting episode! |
Quote of the day: Las Vegas is a fun city. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
