December 7, 2013: Pearl Harbor Day, also known as "National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day." Our nation was thrown into World War II with an attack by Japanese at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on Sunday morning, December 7, 1941, a day that will live in infamy. Some 2400 Americans died in the unprovoked act in a yet undeclared war while peace negotiations were going on between the United States and Japan. |

The All Veterans Memorial in Brainerd stands to remind people
of the sacrifices made by our military in the defense of this great nation. Most notably, the Bataan Death March in April 1942 where captured American and Filipino soldiers were forced to march some 80 miles by Japanese military in the Philippines. About half died in this atrocity of war. |
Quote of the day: Let us not forget. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
