Friday, December 6, 2013: Paula woke up to plenty of snow in Duluth. This snowstorm dumped almost two feet of snow in the area in the last few days. Over 30 inches was reported about 30 miles up the north shore of Lake Superior. Ski lodges were happily filled with people. |

|
Mark and Paula left Duluth, headed to Minneapolis on that clear day. Less snow along the road the further south they went, but it hung on the trees. |

Once in downtown Minneapolis, Mark and Paula visited the
Mary
Tyler Moore statue at 7th and Nicollet. You might remember the Mary Tyler Moor Show where Mary was a 30-something on television back in the 1970's. |

Apparently people feed birds in downtown Minneapolis. There were plenty of birds around that day in spite of the cold near-zero degree temperatures. |

|
A new landmark, the WCCO
Weather Watcher, was recently installed at the WCCO Television studios. The location 90 South 11th Street on the Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis. Blue that day meant cold weather ahead. Well, it is winter! |
|
|
Peering into a window to the WCCO newsroom from outside, it
was easy to see news anchor Frank Vascellaro in a blue jacket. He is no
stranger to cameras and likes to smile.
His wife, Amelia Santaniello is just visible from behind her computer monitor on the right. She often co-anchors the news. WCCO is reportedly the most-watched television station in the Twin Cities. |

|
Paula liked the fireplace display on a huge television monitor
at the outside of the studio building. At least she said she "felt warmer" standing by it. |
Quote of the day: Minneapolis is a fun place. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
