The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Thanksgiving

Thursday, November 28, 2013:

The annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was held in New York to the delight of thousands attending and millions watching on television.

Interestingly, Mark and Paula were contacted by Macy's to provide two 48 Volt DC power supplies, which were needed as a part of the parade.  The supplies were air shipped to New York in time and all was well.  Mark and Paula's business is found at http://mwpersons.com

The joke around the office is that Macy's would have cancelled the parade if it had not been for Mark and Paula!

Chef Paula was busy in the Gilbert Lodge Galley cooking fresh a sixteen pound turkey.

It took three house in a convection oven.

Pieces of meat from the boiled turkey neck were added to the gravy.  Excellent taste choice.

Yes, you can never have too much turkey, dressing, gravy, squash, potatoes, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie.

       Chef Paula

Chef Paula did it again.  A feat fit for a king or queen.

Guests that day were Jean and Dave Schaeffer.

They are neighbors from about four houses down Gilbert lake.

A fun couple too.

Mark and Paula were happy to have Thanksgiving at home.

Paula makes the best turkey dressing and squash, not to mention the turkey.

After the turkey dinner, it was time to go out and walk it off.

Jean likes the mirror in the entry.

On the lake, the temperature was about freezing, but not much wind.

Jean showed off a now dormant or abandoned hornet's nest that was over the water in a tree.

Paula was in the background showing off.

Dave and Jean live in the home in the background.

Paula liked looking through the ice to see the bottom.
No fish spotted that day!

Back at Gilbert Lodge, Mark read a Thanksgiving poem and Paula played music on her dulcimer.
It is amazing the things that guests have to put up with at this place!

Dave brought the wine and Jean brought the pumpkin pie.

Who could ask for more?

Quote of the day:  A fun time was had by all.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
